Frederick County man arrested, accused of assaulting officer during Capitol breach

According to court documents, Brody attended the rally with several friends and acquaintances. He and his group made their way through various buildings before they got to the North Door area where officers were attempting to keep rioters back.

When an officer tried to use a fire extinguisher to keep the rioters back, Brody grabbed a metal barricade, lifted it up and shoved it into the officer, knocking them backward.

Brody and his group then moved outside the Capitol building where news media teams had their broadcast equipment set up. There were metal barricades around the broadcasting equipment, but rioters breached the area and started destroying it. Documents said that Brody and his group took some of the equipment and he ripped out a corded phone.

Officers arrested him on Sept. 14, 2022, in Springfield. His sentencing was scheduled for June 28.
