Drury University reports missing freshman found safe Thursday by Springfield police

UPDATE: Drury University reported Evangeline Jimenez was located at 12:25 p.m. Thursday.

Springfield Police Department notified Drury Security that Evangeline had been located at a teens homeless shelter in the downtown area and is safe.

Drury thanked the public for its help.

The Springfield Police Department is searching for a Drury University freshman who has not been seen since 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Evangeline Jimenez, 18, was last seen in the 1300 block of North Robberson Avenue − near the Sigma Pi Fraternity House − wearing a purple fraternity shirt with white letters and black pants.

She did not have shoes or a coat.

Jimenez is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 175 pounds and has black hair and hazel eyes. She is from Independence, Missouri.

According to Drury, which provided an updated photo of Jimenez, she was last seen heading west.

Drury said Jimenez was wearing large-frame glasses and did not have her phone or her ID with her. They noted due to the cold weather conditions, her safety remains of concern.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
