This Springfield shopping plaza to get store selling Western and work-related apparel

Boot Barn, a company specializing in Western and work-related shoes, apparel and accessories, plans to open a store in Springfield in early 2023.

The store will be in Sherwood Plaza, located on Wabash Avenue between Burlington and Binny’s Beverage Depot. It will open in the first quarter of 2023, according to the company's media coordinator, Tonya Doyel.

Boot Barn, headquartered in Irvine, California, was established in 1978 and now has 307 stores nationwide.

Boot Barn serves the American cowboy and the American worker, from the oil and gas industry to agriculture, according to the company's website.

The Springfield store will be the company's second in Illinois. The other Illinois store is in Gurnee.

The closest Boot Barn to Springfield is in St. Louis.

Earlier this year, CBRE, a real estate services firm, represented Sherwood Plaza’s ownership in the lease transaction for the store, according to Casey Davison, CBRE corporate communications manager. Seritage Growth Properties, owns the plaza. Joe Parrott, Sean McCourt, and Riley McCarron represented the landlord, in the transaction.
