Target will be making some changes later this spring to its store on East Primrose Street in Springfield.

The goal of the redesign is to create a more modern digital experience that makes things safer and easier for customers.

A Target spokesperson told the News-Leader that the remodeling of the Springfield store is similar to projects occurring at other Target stores across the country.

Target will include specialty LED lighting throughout the store with engaging merchandise displays. Target will also expand order pickup, drive up and returns and exchanges services.

In addition, the front-of-store revisions will include larger spaces between checkout lanes and plexiglass barriers. As far as the restrooms, Target will be updating them with features like touchless hand dryers.

There are several large shipping containers in the Target parking lot as a result of the renovations happening inside.
