New Sprouts Farmers Market on Cortez Road in Bradenton has an opening date

Sprouts Farmers Market, one of the largest and fastest growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food, this week announced opening plans for its first Bradenton store.

The store at 1149 Cortez Road W. opens June 30 with a ribbon cutting at 6:45 a.m. The doors to the store open at 7 a.m.

“I think it will be fantastic. A lot of customers are coming up already, excited about the store opening,” store manager Steven Knott said Wednesday.

Sprouts will be ready for them with a full staff, although it is still looking to hire five part-time cashiers.

Sprouts offers an open layout with fresh produce at the heart of the store, including organic, plant-based and gluten-free products.

Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts employs approximately 31,000 team members and operates about 380 stores in 23 states.

From June 30 through July 2, a variety of activities are planned to celebrate the opening of the Bradenton store:

A pop-up party out front all weekend will give guests the chance to taste seasonal produce, play games, have their faces painted, see artists carve large produce and more.

The first 200 shoppers on Friday and Saturday will receive a free ‘Goodness it’s Free’ reusable goodie bag filled with special products and samples. Inside the store, shoppers will be treated to samples from brands at the Vendor Village.

On Sunday, July 2, dog lovers will receive dog treats from Bundle X Joy. An in-store scavenger hunt is planned. Plus, kids’ games, music and prizes giveaway are planned throughout the weekend.

Customers who text “BRAD” to 777-688 will receive 20% off their purchase over the grand opening weekend (June 30 – July 2) when they scan their app account barcode at checkout. Up to two redemptions allowed per Sprouts account per day.

Additionally, through the app, shoppers can view Sprouts’ weekly ad and digital coupons on grocery staples and new items every month.

In the weeks following the opening, customers will receive $10 off when they spend $50 or more, with a valid coupon. A customer appreciation event will be held on Aug. 26 where guests can try samples and have the chance to win a $500 gift card when they sign up for a Sprouts account.

Through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, the store will donate groceries that are no longer fit for sale but remain perfectly edible and nutrient rich to Feeding Tampa Bay, a food bank that provides food to families and individuals at risk of hunger.

Sprouts has no announced plans for a second Bradenton store, but does have a second Sarasota store planned on Fruitville Road, Knott said.

This location will be open daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. For more information visit https://www.sprouts.com/store/fl/bradenton/cortez-rd/
