Sprouts Farmers Market sets opening date for Westmont store

HADDON TWP. – A supermarket coming to the Westmont area is looking to hire 95 workers.

Sprouts Farmers Market expects to open Sept. 8 in the Westmont Plaza at Cuthbert and MacArthur boulevards, a company representative said.

It’s hosting in-person events over two days for applicants seeking full- or part-time positions.

The chain has one other South Jersey location, an Evesham store that opened in June 2019 at Marlton Crossing on Route 73.

The Westmont store will occupy about 23,000 square feet between a Target and the Cork ‘n Bottle liquor store, according to information provided to the township’s planning department.

The site formerly held A.C. Moore and Tuesday Morning stores, both now-defunct retail chains.

Arizona-based Sprouts has identified New Jersey as an “expanding market,” according to its website.

The chain had 395 stores in 23 states on April 2, the end of its last fiscal quarter. It reported net sales of $6.4 billion in 2022.

The Westmont store’s hiring events will take place July 26-27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill on Route 70 near Cuthbert Boulevard.

Each session will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Employment opportunities include department managers and assistant managers, cashiers, and clerks in areas that include produce, meat and seafood, grocery and bakery.

Candidates may apply online in advance, and walk-in applicants are welcome.
