Spurs' David West Says Lyrics From Drake's "Back to Back" Serve as Inspiration for His Life Going Forward

Thank Drake later?

Drake lyrics have been considered many things. Something you can use in your everyday situations. The catalyst for making you want to reconnect with your ex. A way of learning life's most important lessons. But, when Drizzy dropped "Back to Back," it seemed like a straight-forward diss track directed at Meek Mill. Nothing notable to take from those bars, right? Don't tell that to Spurs forward David West.

In an interview with the San Antonio Express-News, West confessed that one particular line on "Back to Back" really struck a chord with him.

The lyric: “… Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers,” as Drake responded to a feud with another hip-hip artist, Meek Mill, who took to Twitter to express his dispute with the Canadian rapper.

Using the lyric to his own benefit, West said: “I don’t want to be that Twitter fingers type dude no more. Something about that (lyric) just…”

In the past, West has been quick to chime in on Twitter regarding social issues affecting the country. Now, the 35-year-old forward is living by a different creed when it comes to his expressing his opinion. “Not take a step back. I’m not going to be typing," he said. "You want to ask me a question, you want to talk about something, talk to me.”
