Oregon resident Joseph Rojas captured a video of a squirrel drinking from an ice cube he set out in an effort to help cool the animal amid a historic heat wave in Portland on June 26.
The city has seen record-breaking temperatures as a heat wave gripped the Pacific Northwest.
On Saturday the city saw an all-time high temperature of 108 F, a record then broken by Sunday’s high of 112 F, according to reports.
The high temperature at Portland International Airport reached 113 F by 2:30 pm on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters say that temperatures could hit 114 F before the end of June 28. Credit: Joseph Rojas via Storyful
