SRSO: Milton woman arrested twice in two days for two incidents of violent child abuse

A Milton woman was arrested twice in two days for two incidents of child abuse.

Tomasina Frate, 31, was arrested Thursday and charged with child abuse without causing great bodily harm for allegedly slamming a girl’s head into the ground and punching her because she believed the girl had pushed another person into a swimming pool on Thanksgiving.

County records indicated that she was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail with a $2,500 bond and released from custody on Friday morning.

Frate was arrested for a second time Friday afternoon and charged with aggravated child abuse.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Frate the second time after a caseworker from the Florida Department of Children and Families showed them a video of Frate holding a girl by the hair and repeatedly punching the child who was sobbing and yelling “Ow! I’m sorry!” and “No,” according to an arrest report.

The caseworker advised that the video was filmed on Nov. 22 and reportedly showed that Frate had become angry with a girl for moving a Crock pot in a kitchen.

Frate also faces two counts of battery.

After being arrested for a second time, Frate was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail without a chance for bond, and county records indicated that she remained in custody as of Monday.

Her redacted arrest reports did not make it clear if it was the same child involved in both of the two incidents.
