SRSO: Nude Pace man allegedly attacked multiple people with a hammer

A Pace man was arrested after he allegedly answered his door nude and then attacked several individuals with a hammer.

Dustin Reeves, 36, was arrested Sunday night at East Avenida De Golf and charged with one count of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior toward two minors and one count of resisting an officer without violence by failing to disclose his name and personal information.

According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report, when trying to locate the owner of a stray dog, neighbors knocked on Reeves' door and he answered naked. When the neighbors told Reeves to go back into his home to put on clothes since there were minors present, Reeves came back outside screaming and holding a claw hammer, witnesses claimed.

Using the hammer, Reeves struck one man in the forehead, causing injuries that later required medical attention, the report said. Three men were able to restrain Reeves, but a witness said he continued "flailing the hammer around as a weapon," causing multiple deep scratches on another man's arms and legs.

One of the men said they told the minors to leave the area as soon as Reeves emerged with the hammer, and none of the children were physically injured in the incident.

Once the police arrived, Reeves did not disclose his identity or personal information until he was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail on Sunday night.

He was being held without bond Monday, according to jail records.
