SRTC honors nurse aide graduates
Feb. 23—THOMASVILLE — Jankembreya Hill of Meigs was among seven graduating Nurse Aide Accelerated students recognized by Southern Regional Technical College Feb. 20 at a pinning ceremony at SRTC-Thomasville. The program honored students from the SRTC-Thomasville cohort.
The Nurse Aide Accelerated Technical Certificate of Credit Program is approved by the Georgia Medical Care Foundation. During their five-week accelerated program, the students completed the classroom training, laboratory practice, and clinical rotations required to earn their nurse aide certification. These graduates are now eligible to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment program which determines competency to become enrolled in the Georgia State Nurse Aide registry.
"This class experienced several challenges and instead of running from them, they faced the challenge head-on and overcame," said Nurse Aide Accelerated instructor Karen Kelso, RN, MSN. "They learned that challenge is not their disadvantage, it is indeed their greatest advantage. Ms. King, one instructor, guided them through learning how to face challenges. It was an aspiring lesson to observe."
