St. Augustine man killed in crash on I-95 in St. Johns County

A 54-year-old St. Augustine man was killed Sunday night after a tractor trailer rear-ended the SUV he was driving.

The man was traveling southbound in the right lane on Interstate 95 near mile-marker 327 at around 10:20 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The tractor trailer, driven by a 59-year-old man from Quebec, Canada, collided with the back of the SUV, sending the SUV off the highway and into the grass. It overturned multiple times, and came to a final rest in the wood line, according to the report.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt, FHP said.
