St. Cloud area schools dismissing students two hours early Wednesday

Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools, Sartell-St. Stephen Schools, St. Cloud Area Schools and area Catholic schools will be released two hours early on Wednesday due to the inclement weather forecasted for much of Minnesota. All after school programs, kid care and activities are canceled.

Expecting high winds and blizzard conditions, Sartell-St. Stephen schools will be canceling school on Thursday, Dec. 22. Sauk Rapids-Rice and St. Cloud Area Public Schools did not have classes scheduled that day.

Catholic schools affected Dec. 21:

  • Cathedral Middle and High School, St. Cloud

  • All Saints Academy, St. Cloud

  • St. Joseph Catholic School, St. Joseph

  • St. Francis Xavier School, Sartell

  • St. Katharine Drexel School, St. Cloud

  • St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Cloud

  • St. Wendelin School, St. Augusta/St. Cloud

  • St. Mary Help of Christians School, St. Augusta

The early release for Sauk Rapids-Rice schools on Dec. 21 means:

  • All afterschool and evening activities are canceled, including practices and games.

  • All Early Childhood afternoon and evening classes are canceled at Hillside and Rice.

  • KIDSTOP and Rice Kids Club will remain open until 4:00 p.m. Parents/Guardians please pick up their children as soon as safely possible and no later than 4:00 p.m.

  • Storm After School - Middle School open until 4:00 p.m. Parents/Guardians please pick up their children as soon as safely possible and no later than 4:00 p.m.

  • All district buildings will be closed at 4:00 p.m.

    • Community Education classes are canceled

    • District facilities are closed and there will be no rental or usage of district facilities

Sartell-St. Stephen schools Thursday:

  • Will be canceled.

  • There will be no KIDStop on Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Sauk Rapids-Rice, Sartell-St. Stephen and St. Cloud Public Schools. 

  • There will be no Kids Club in Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
