St. Cloud man accused of punching and choking woman

A St. Cloud man is accused of punching a woman and choking her, according to a Stearns County criminal complaint.

Seth Lee Dammann, 23, of St. Cloud, faces one felony count of domestic assault by strangulation and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault.

Law enforcement responded around 12:03 a.m. Saturday to a report of a domestic assault in St. Cloud. Law enforcement learned a woman had been assaulted by Dammann, according to the complaint.

The woman informed police that she and Dammann got into an argument. The woman said she told Dammann to leave, but he refused.

At one point during the argument, Dammann punched the woman in the back of the head, tried to push her out a patio door and strangled her, according to the complaint. The woman said she grabbed Dammann's hair to try to get him off her. She then called police and Dammann fled, according to the complaint.

Dammann later called police. He told an officer he started to get "hot" so he decided to leave. He stated he wanted to take one of the dogs and the woman blocked him from leaving so he tried to get to the door to leave. He stated the woman pushed and grabbed him and they got into a struggle where the woman broke his vape pen and ripped his necklace off. Dammann had a small rug burn on one of his arms and he denied injuring the woman in any way.
