St. Cloud Rox announce this summer's promotional calendar
With the Northwoods baseball league season starting in one month, the St. Cloud Rox have released their promotional schedule for 2023.
Tickets are also available starting at 10 a.m. April 28 at the Rox ticket office in the Municipal Athletic Complex, online at st.cloudrox.com or by phone at (320) 240-9798.
Friday night fireworks are back this summer, as are Taco Tuesdays, Thirsty Thursdays and other weekly promotional nights. The Rox have also announced plenty of giveaways, guests and theme nights for the 2023 season.
The team's home opener is June 2 with post-game fireworks and a guest appearance by former Twin and World Series winner Doug Mientkiewicz. Fan appreciation night is the last home game of the season: August 12, with prizes being given out throughout the game.
In between are giveaways such as T-shirts (June 27), bats (July 13) and team posters (June 8 and August 9)
Star Wars night is August 10 with a bobblehead to the first 400 fans and the Rox are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of The Sandlot on June 11. Actor Shane Obedzinski (Tommy “Repeat” Timmons) will be at the ballpark to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
“We can’t wait to see Rox fans back at the Rockpile for another summer of fun”, Assistant General Manager Rachel Thiesse said in a release.
The Rox were 50-18 last season but were swept out of the first round of the Northwoods League playoffs by the Willmar Stingers. They open 2023 on the road May 29 in Minot and travel to Bismark before the June 2 home opener at Joe Faber Field.

June 25: Books & baseball. Kids aged seven and under receive a book and read on the field from 3:05 to 3:30 with the Rox.
June 27: T-Shirt giveaway night. (first 300 adults) Also, Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act.
June 28: Baseball cap giveaway night. (first 250 fans)
June 29: Youth jersey giveaway night. (first 300 kids)
June 30: Military appreciation night. Game jersey auction to benefit Pawsitivity Service Dogs for military veterans.
July 1: Tote bag giveaway night. (first 300 fans)
July 5: Bark in the park.
July 6: Pint glass giveaway night (first 250 adult fans)
July 11: “Twosday” two-for-one Miller Lite.
July 13: Baseball bat giveaway night. (first 350 kids)
July 14: Friday night fireworks.
