St. Johns County Fire Rescue: 1 found dead in house fire

Firefighters reported one casualty following a structure fire in northeast St. Johns County Tuesday, but authorities haven't reported yet whether the fire caused the death.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue firefighters responded to the 100 block of Clatter Bridge Road after getting a report of smoke coming from the house at 7:20 a.m.

"The residence was fully involved and crews were notified that there was a person still in residence," according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue. "Crews entered the residence, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Unfortunately, crews did find one deceased individual inside."

The state fire marshal's office is investigating. Officials did not release any additional informaiton.
