St. Joseph County Department of Health distributing free at-home COVID-19 tests

SOUTH BEND — The St. Joseph County Department of Health is now providing free at-home rapid COVID-19 tests to any St. Joseph County resident.

Individuals may receive one test kit per household member while supplies last. Each test kit includes two tests.

Test kits are available at the following locations during each facility’s normal operating hours:

• SJC Department of Health, County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., 8th Floor, South Bend

• SJC Department of Health, Mishawaka County Services Building, 219 Lincoln Way West, 1st Floor (Vital Records), Mishawaka

• SJC Public Library, 304 S. Main St., South Bend

• La Casa de Amistad, 3423 S. Michigan St., South Bend

Additional locations will be added and can be found at the county’s website, sjcindiana.com/health.

Also, late last week, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) approved a booster dose of Pfizer COVID19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. The Pfizer vaccine is available at the St. Joseph County Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine clinic, on the ninth floor of the County-City Building, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays.
