St. Joseph County police locate missing 12-year-old girl

SOUTH BEND — St. Joseph County police have found a missing 12-year-old girl who is believed to have run away from her home Sunday night.

Police were searching for Iris Moran Walton, who was last seen in the 51000 block of Lilac Road, near St. Patrick's County Park, around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. According to county police, Iris was found around 8 p.m. Monday and was expected to be reunited with her family soon.

According to police, Iris is approximately 5' 3" and weighs 100 pounds. She has brown, short hair and brown eyes. Iris was last seen wearing a brown corduroy coat, a red hoodie, green sweatpants and red, high-top Chuck Taylor shoes.

She may be riding an indigo bicycle.
