Apr. 10—NASHUA — St. Joseph Hospital, a member of Covenant Health, recently welcomed Kendall Reyes — former NFL player, community activist and Nashua native — as its 2021 Community Ambassador.

Reyes, who most recently played as a defensive end for the San Diego Chargers was born at St. Joseph Hospital and graduated from Nashua North High School in 2007.

In addition to a seven-year career in the NFL with the Chargers, Washington Football Team, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets, he's also been a long-time mentor at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua and participates in multiple local events that raise funds to support youth development and initiatives.

"We're excited to welcome Kendall to our team as an ambassador and spokesperson," said John A. Jurczyk, president of St. Joseph Hospital." He is well-known for his gracious support of many local not-for-profit organizations that support kids and families and is well-respected for his consistent and positive involvement in Greater Nashua."

On behalf of St. Joseph Hospital, Reyes will make appearances and speak at various events throughout the year to proactively promote family health and wellness. In turn, St. Joseph Hospital will attend and sponsor his fundraising events, including Reyes Family Field Day and the Reyes Family Fundraiser this Summer, which both benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.

"I was born at St. Joe's, and today, it has come full circle as I commit to being one of its health and wellness ambassadors," Reyes said. "This partnership is a true win-win. I'm genuinely proud to align myself with an organization that not only provides quality health care, but also gives so much back to the local community."
