PEORIA — The Peoria Chiefs re-loaded their front office staff this week as the High-A Central League team continued to rebuild toward the 2022 season.
General manager Jason Mott has hired Gary Olson as assistant general manager.
Cole Zimmer joins the staff as an account executive, while Matt Vetter takes over as director of ticket operations. Cody Schindler will continue as voice of the Chiefs on its streaming network, and in 2022 will also serve as director of media relations.
Olson is an Iowa native who played college baseball at Quincy University. He was part of the front office operation last season for the Stockton Ports, the low-A farm club of the Oakland Athletics.
Zimmer is a Western Michigan grad who worked for the Tampa Bay Titans, a franchise in The Basketball League, a 30-team minor-league hoops circuit.
Vetter is a Seneca, S.C. native and Winthrop University grad who was assistant box office manager for Triple-A Pawtucket, the Red Sox farm club.
When does the 2022 season begin?
The Chiefs home opener for 2022 is set for April 12 against the Great Lakes Loons.
Season tickets for the 2022 season are on sale now. The team has extended the renewal deadline through Nov. 8. If fans purchase a plan, or renew a plan by next Monday, they will be entered into multiple raffles to potentially win one of the following prizes including a Jordan Walker autographed bat; a Masyn Winn autographed ball; or a free suite in the month of April.
