St. Louis standoff closes portion of Jefferson Avenue

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis County Police worked with the US Marshals to arrest a suspect. They surrounded a home on the 2300 block of Albion Place, and the situation escalated into a standoff. The suspect is now under arrest.

The SWAT team was called in to help handle the situation. The DEA is also involved. The police activity has closed a portion of Jefferson Avenue, from Lafayette to Park, to both pedestrians and vehicles.

Sinkhole closes area roadway in south St. Louis

At least one school in the area went into a “modified lockdown.” Lafayette Preparatory Academy tells parents that the situation is now over.
