St Louis Struck by Record Rain and Flooding

Life-threatening flash flooding overtook St Louis overnight July 25 to 26 after as much as 10 inches of rain fell on parts of Missouri, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Local authorities urged residents to stay home as water levels rose, leaving cars and motorists stranded.

Paul Hampel posted videos to Twitter on Tuesday showing the extent of the flooding in Brentwood, a suburb west of St Louis.
