Need a St. Patrick's Day idea? Here are local restaurants offering meal and drink deals
Need an idea for St. Patrick's Day? Several Southern Tier restaurants offer festive deals on meals and drinks on Friday, March 17 or the entire weekend.
Some restaurants are offering themed meals or Irish music to celebrate the holiday. Food options include the traditional corned beef and cabbage, Reubens, potatoes, or more.
"Our smoked pastrami Reuben is always popular and a way for us to feature our slow-smoked barbeque in a unique way," said Don Polhamus, owner of Food & Fire BBQ Taphouse in Johnson City. "Plus, there are some great seasonal Irish beers we can feature on tap to pair with the Reuben and other barbeque items."
There are a number of different options, including drink specials like $5 Irish shots at The Grove in Binghamton, or a more traditional dining setting to celebrate with friends and family.
"St. Patrick's Day is always fun for us—we tend to be just a little less crazy than some of the traditional party spots," Polhamus said, "so we fill up with more families and other groups who want to celebrate with good food and beers with a more laid-back vibe."

The menu will feature vegan scratch-made corned beef dinner served with seasoned braised cabbage, roasted carrots, potatoes, and a Dijon cream sauce.
