St. Paul man arrested after shooting gun into occupied Grand Forks apartment

Feb. 27—A St. Paul man has been arrested for reckless endangerment after allegedly firing an accidental shot into an occupied Grand Forks apartment early Friday morning, Feb. 26.

Grand Forks police officers were dispatched to an apartment building on the 2300 block of South 17th Street for a report of gunfire just after 2:10 a.m., according to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department.

Investigation determined that a gun had been fired in a third floor apartment, traveling through the floor and through the ceiling of the occupied second floor apartment underneath.

According to police, 24-year-old Jordan Stone was identified as a suspect. Stone indicated to police that he believed the handgun was not loaded at the time that he was manipulating it.

Stone was arrested on the scene and charged with reckless endangerment, according to the release.
