St. Paul man injured in crash near Red Wing

Feb. 15—WELCH TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A St. Paul man was injured after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, near Miesville.

A 2011 Subaru Impreza was southbound on Minnesota Highway 316 and a 2010 Ford Ranger was northbound on the highway when the vehicles collided around 9:15 a.m., according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.

The driver of the Subaru, Tim Joseph Dewane, 37, of St. Paul, had non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Allina Health United Hospital-Hastings Regina Campus.

The driver of the Ford, Thomas Allen Gale, 61, of Goodhue, was not injured in the crash, according to the report.

With the area's return to winter snowfall, the report stated the roads were snowy and icy. The State Patrol reported 471 crashes, 381 vehicle spinouts and 14 jackknifed semis statewide from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The Red Wing Fire Department and Ambulance, Miesville Fire Department and Goodhue County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash on Highway 316.
