St. Paul Saints snap Clippers' win streak

Wednesday's game: Saints 2, Clippers 0

Recap: The Columbus Clippers and St. Paul Saints combined for six hits, but it was the Saints who scored two runs in snapping the Clippers eight-game winning streak. John Andreoli hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and Elliot Soto scored on a bases loaded walk in the eighth to seal the win. The Clippers two hits, both by Gabriel Arias, matched the team's fewest in a game this season. Konnor Pilkington (2-1) struck out eight through 5 and 2/3 innings and the team fanned 13 batters for the second-consecutive game. Bo Naylor is hitting 2 of 17 since batting leadoff, but extened his on-base streak to 11 games with a walk.

Of note: RHP Aaron Civale returned to Cleveland from a rehab assignment and the Guardians optioned RHP Jake Jewell back to Columbus.
