St. Paul’s student-athletes sign, Asher Hale to South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Six St. Paul’s student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent in four different sports on Wednesday.

On the gridiron, offensive tackle Asher Hale signed with the South Alabama Jaguars.

He quickly rose up the recruiting ranking to one of the top offensive linemen in the state. In December, Hale competed in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

Hale said he is eager to suit up for South Alabama head coach Major Applewhite this fall.

“Well, I thought the facilities were great,” Hale said. “It’s close to home and it’s the people there are just great. They’re interested in me; I’m interested in them, so that’s great. Just try and be humble and take it and have discipline at the next level and stuff like that. So I’m able to really strive at that level.”

Hale will play at South Alabama alongside Vigor High School wide receiver Jerrian Graham, who also signed with the Jaguars on Wednesday.

Emily Miles signed to run cross country at South Alabama. Neely Kate Benton is headed to Mississippi College (cross country). Pape Davidson will play soccer at Bard College. Madeline Howard and Morgan Maples will play softball at Wallace State.
