St. Petersburg honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during annual parade

People lined St. Petersburg’s 1st Avenue South from Pioneer Park to Tropicana Field for the annual MLK Dream Big Parade on Monday to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy.

More than 100 organizations took part in Monday’s parade, including lively marching bands from local and visiting schools, all thrilling the crowds with beats and beads.

The celebration continued at Tropicana Field with an MLK Family Fun Day event featuring live performances, food, children’s activities and health checkups.
