St. Xavier basketball coach Mike Noszka will not return to Bombers after 4 seasons

St. Xavier High School is in the market for a new head boys basketball coach after the school announced Tuesday afternoon that Mike Noszka will not return to lead the Bombers.

"After four years as head basketball coach and math teacher, Mike Noszka will not be returning to St. Xavier High School after this school year. We wish Mike all the best in his future endeavors," a press release from the school said.

Noszka was named the Bombers' head coach in April 2019. In four seasons, he led St. Xavier to a 58-32 overall record that included a share of the Greater Catholic League-South title, two trips to the district finals appearance and one district championship in 2021.

Prior to joining the Bombers, Noszka enjoyed a very successful 14-year run as the head coach at Wilmington. He led the Hurricane to nine conference championships, a pair of district titles and the program's first state tournament appearance in 89 years in 2016 with former University of Cincinnati standout Jarron Cumberland on the roster.

St. Xavier said the search for a new head boys basketball coach will begin immediately.
