Staffing Solution GigSmart Launches COVID-19 Unemployment Resource Center

GigSmart, a staffing solution for the gig economy, launched the Coronavirus Unemployment Resource Center to help Americans affected by the pandemic find information on unemployment insurance, financial aid, and healthcare benefits.

The development comes after GigSmart launched in 2018, connecting over 170,000 users to local opportunities via a skills-based matching engine. As states transition from their coronavirus protection measures, GigSmart will help fulfill the increased demand for workers needed in warehousing, construction, landscaping, and more.

"With a record 20.5 million Americans impacted by job loss in April, we want to help those who need financial assistance easily access all available resources and information offered by their state," said Rich Oakes, President of GigSmart. "In addition to connecting Americans to this important information, we want to help them get back to work. They can use our Get Gigs app to quickly and easily see open hourly gigs, part-time jobs, and full-time jobs now hiring in their immediate proximity."

The new solution is an extension of GigSmart’s already diverse product portfolio of staffing solutions and will provide individuals access to state-based information on COVID-19 relief.
