SINGAPORE — The Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 3 (TEL3) will start operating with 11 stations on 13 November.

Spanning 13.2km, the TEL3 stations are Stevens, Napier, Orchard Boulevard, Orchard, Great World, Havelock, Outram Park, Maxwell, Shenton Way, Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay. Four of them are interchange stations: Stevens, Orchard, Outram Park and Marina Bay.

More than 180,000 households are expected to be within a 10-minute walk from an existing TEL station when TEL3 opens.

Commuters can travel for free along the 11 stations during the TEL3's opening event on 11 November from 10am to 9pm.

Two other TEL3 stations, Mount Pleasant and Marina South, will open after 2022 when housing developments are completed.

The first stage of TEL was opened in January 2020 with three stations: Woodlands North, Woodlands, and Woodlands South.

This was followed by the launch of six more stations during the second stage of TEL in August 2021 with six stations: Springleaf, Lentor, Mayflower, Bright Hill, Upper Thomson, and Caldecott.

Stage 4 of TEL will be launched with seven stations around 2024, with the Founders’ Memorial station to open in tandem with the completion of the memorial around 2027. Stage 5 of TEL will open with two stations around 2025.

The last phase of TEL will be its extension to Changi Airport by 2040.

When fully opened, the 32 TEL stations spanning 43km will serve about 500,000 commuters daily initially and 1 million in the longer term.
