Here’s who Stanislaus District fans voted as The Bee’s 2021-22 Boys Team of the Year

The last time the Turlock Christian baseball team made a section title game was 1997. The Eagles lost in a 23-5 beating at the hands of Mariposa.

This year, they made sure they came out on top.

The Eagles secured the 1-0 Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII title game win over Valley Christian early. A first-inning RBI base hit by All District pitcher Gavin Farinha gave them the only insurance they needed.

They also advanced to the CIF Northern California Regional Semifinals after a first round shutout win over Mendota. Because of their success, the fans voted the Eagles The Bee’s Boys Team of the Year, giving them 52% of the more than 27,600 votes.

Farinha was the team’s catalyst. The junior finished the season with a perfect 12-0 record on the mound and had an era of 0. He also had 10 complete games, 10 shutouts and six no hitters.

Julian Espinoza and Jayden Espinoza picked the team up at the plate, batting .558 and .494, respectively. Rob York proved to be a reliable second option at pitcher as he finished the season with seven wins and at the plate hit .449 with seven doubles.

The Eagles will need to replace players at key positions next season but will return five of their top bats from this year.
