Stanley cups a hot commodity in the Carolinas, Google search data shows

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Have you joined the Stanley cup craze?

If not, odds are you know someone who has. The Carolinas are among the 10 states with the highest demand for the popular tumblers and water bottles, according to an analysis of Google search data by JeffBet, an online gambling company.

North Carolina is No. 5 on the list, while South Carolina is No. 9. Texas is No. 1, followed by Alabama, Tennessee and Nebraska.

According to the data, there are about 4.3 million average Google searches a month for the cups during the past year. South Carolinians conducted nearly 77,000 total searches during that time, while North Carolinians searched about 165,000 times.

Texans searched more than 540,000 times, and the pink and Starbucks versions of the cup were among the most popular searches, JeffBet said.
