Stansberrys celebrating 50th wedding anniversary

Robert David and Mary Kay Stansberry of Monroe observed their golden wedding anniversary recently. The couple took a camping trip to Fremont, Indiana, with their children and grandchildren in July.

Mr. Stansberry married Mary Kay Crosby July 6, 1973, at St. John Catholic Church, Essexville.

The couple’s children and daughter-in-law are Bill and Nichole Stansberry of Monroe and Kaysie Haaga of Wyandotte. They also have five grandchildren.

Mr. Stansberry held several different positions with Ford Motor Co.’s Monroe plant, retiring as a follow up in the balcony after 33 years of service. Now, he works handy-man construction jobs within the community.

A graduate of Monroe High School, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, coaching youth sports and riding his Harley.

Mrs. Stansberry spent most of her working years raising her children and caring for her family. She also provided accounting, payroll and back office support over the years to several local business, including Cortez Ford, J.C. Penney and Crafts 2000. She provided food services through Monroe Public Schools/Aramark and Carrington Golf Club.

A graduate of Garber High School in Essexville, she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, gardening, camping and spending time with her family.
