UPDATE: Starhub announced on 20 June that the early-bird offers for Premier+ will be extended until 30 June 2022.

SINGAPORE — The price plans for viewing live telecasts of next season's English Premier League (EPL) matches are out, as telco StarHub announced on Wednesday (8 June) its Premier+ over-the-top service costing as low as $19.99 monthly.

Sign-up for Premier+ starts on Thursday, and are as follows:

  • Premier+ with StarHub mobile postpaid, broadband, or TV plan above S$15 monthly: $19.99 (early-bird price until 30 June 2022), $24.99 from July.

  • Premier+ only: $34.99 (early-bird price until 30 June 2022), $39.99 from July.

  • Customers on IPTV can subscribe to the Premier Pack at $64.90.

Premier+ can be accessed from any five registered devices and two simultaneous streams with a single subscription.

Service subscribers - who need not sign up for StarHub contracts - will enjoy immersive viewing experiences that will be rolled out progressively until the first quarter of 2023.

These include:

  • Party Watch: Virtually invite friends to watch and chat about the game in real-time;

  • Multi viewing: Catch two EPL matches simultaneously on a single screen, or view the game from the perspective of a player;

  • Key highlights: Replay moments through short three- or 10-minute highlights, compilations, and “best of the week” reels;

  • Time-shift: Catch up on missed matches, up to 24 hours, as well as scroll back to key actions with an interactive timeline overlay feature;

  • Club pages: Find upcoming matches with favourite teams through a customisable user interface;

  • Live game statistics: Access real-time team statistics during live games;

  • Match stories: Skip and scroll through key match moments.

“We are here to energise this passion (for the Premier League), by bringing the game back to all at lower prices," said Johan Buse, StarHub's chief of consumer business group. "Customers can expect a whole-new football viewing experience, complete with immersive features, unparalleled flexibility, and continuous upgrades."

StarHub customers will get an early look at some of these features, with Hub Premier channels going “live” on 15 July for the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy pre-season friendly match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at the National Stadium.

Customers can sign up for Premier+ at this website or at StarHub Shops, while existing TV customers can subscribe via My StarHub app.

StarHub had announced in February that it has signed an exclusive six-year deal to broadcast EPL matches. It will be airing all 380 matches of the upcoming 2022/23 EPL season.

Rival telco Singtel had been the official broadcaster for the popular football league in Singapore for the past 12 years. For the 2012/22 season, Singtel customers pay $64.90 a month to catch the EPL on TV and $49.90 a month on its video streaming service Cast.

Singtel released a media statement later on Wednesday saying that it will offer existing Singtel TV customers the new EPL season as part of the cross-carriage arrangement with StarHub at the price of $64.90. It will also be offering bill rebates as a gesture of thanks for their continuing support.

Meanwhile, a Singtel Cast $1 Giveaway promotion was launched that includes up to 11 apps to choose from, such as Sports Plus, HBO GO and Viu Premium.
