Hope of seeing a star-studded point guard battle were gone shortly before tipoff between the Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks.

Ja Morant is out due to right thigh soreness, and Trae Young is also unavailable.

Morant joins Steven Adams, Desmond Bane, Danny Green and Vince Williams Jr. as Grizzlies players inactive on Monday night.

This is Morant's fifth missed game this season. The Grizzlies (17-9) are 1-3 when Morant doesn't play.

The Hawks (14-13) are on the second night of a back-to-back. Young is joined by fellow all-star Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Clint Capela and John Collins on the inactive list.

Memphis has won five second games but lost its last two against Atlanta.
