Original Austin legend Willie Nelson completes his 89th saunter around the sun on April 29. To honor him as he turns 90, the Hollywood Bowl is hosting "Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90," a two-day celebration featuring an eye-popping roster of top music industry talent.

"I can’t think of a better way to spend my 90th birthday than being surrounded by family, friends and of course the fans who made this all possible," Nelson said in a news release about the event. “It's an honor to perform with such an incredible group of artists at such an iconic venue.”

Grammys:Austin artists Willie Nelson, Spoon, Asleep at the Wheel and Black Pumas earn nods

Watch for Willie Nelson at the Grammys next month

The 2023 Grammy Awards Ceremony is set for Feb. 5. Grammy performers have not been announced yet, but there's a good chance that Willie, who has three solo Grammy nominations plus a nod for the self-titled Willie Nelson Family release, will be in the building. The latter is a gospel album that features Nelson alongside his sister Bobbie, sons Lukas and Micah and daughters Paula and Amy.

Nelson is also up for best country solo performance for "Live Forever" off the Billy Joe Shaver tribute album that came out last year, and best country album for "A Beautiful Time." The opening track and first single on that album, "I'll Love You Till the Day I Die," written by Rodney Crowell and Chris Stapleton, is up for best country song.
