Star Trek: Discovery star Sonequa Martin-Green has opened up on the "kaleidoscope of emotions" she felt after learning that the show was ending.

The series will conclude with its fifth season, which is set to premiere in April.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Martin-Green revealed that the show's future brought up a lot of feelings for her — especially after finding out once filming had already finished.

"My reaction when I heard Star Trek was ending — well, Star Trek: Discovery... man, it was a kaleidoscope of emotions," she said.

"There was definitely the bittersweetness, but then there was this really powerful sense of peace as well because of what we did, what we created, and what we were all able to be a part of. So, yeah, bitter and sweet, but peaceful at the same time."

The actress, who plays Captain Michael Burnham on the prequel series, went on to explain that she would be up for a cameo in another part of the Star Trek franchise.

"We get the question about crossover opportunities all the time. I can speak for all of us, I think, when I say that we would all do it," she said.

"It would be so much fun. It would be a great thing if we could cross over in whatever way. I don't think anyone would say no."
