Star Trek: Lower Decks confirms season 4 premiere date
Star Trek: Lower Decks has confirmed a premiere date for season 4 of the hit animated series.
Dropping some brand new teaser art at its 2023 San Diego Comic-Con panel, Paramount+ confirmed that season 4 of Lower Decks will hit screens on September 7 (via Twitter).
"In season four of Star Trek: Lower Decks, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn't important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Provisional Ensign T'Lyn are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers, and getting stuck in a couple caves — all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way," reads the synopsis.

Earlier this year, Paramount+ announced that season 4 of Star Trek: Lower Decks would be returning to screens at some point in "late summer" in the US.
Along with the announcement that season 4 of the animation would be premiering this year, the streaming service confirmed that it had been renewed for a 10-episode fifth season.
Created by Rick and Morty's Mike McMahan, the series boasts a star-studded voice cast as the "lower decks'' crew of the USS Cerritos which includes The Boys' Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler, Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner, Noël Wells as Ensign D'Vana Tendi, and Eugene Cordero stars as Ensign Sam Rutherford.

Meanwhile, season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiered on Thursday, June 15. The second season features a special crossover episode with Lower Decks which includes live-action and animated scenes.
Directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation and Picard's Jonathan Frakes, the special episode titled 'Those Old Scientists', was released earlier than anticipated when it dropped yesterday (July 22).
