Star Trek's Christina Chong teases "better and bolder" season 2

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star Christina Chong has spoken about the upcoming second season, teasing that the new episodes will be "bigger, better and bolder".
In an interview with SciFiNow, the actress, who plays La'an, the Enterprise's Chief of Security, spoke about the show and what fans can expect from season two.
"It basically just gets bigger, better and bolder," she said, explaining that Paramount+ gave the showrunners more freedom to be creative following the success of the first season. "There are things in there that I can’t talk about that is the first time it’s ever been done with Star Trek."

One of the many things fans can look forward to in the new series is the cross-over episode with animated series Lower Decks. The episode will feature both live-action and animated scenes and will be directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation and Picard's Jonathan Frakes.
When asked about the possibility of further crossover episodes, Chong said she wasn't aware of any further plans to do so but didn't rule it out indefinitely.
"But who knows? Further down the line, next season? The season after? The possibilities are endless now," she said.

While Chong couldn't give away too many details about the crossover, she did reveal her character will share scenes with Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler.
Showrunner Henry Alonso Myers previously revealed there would be a crossover episode in the new season, explaining that the idea came about during a conversation with one of the show's writers.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds streams on Paramount+, where season 2 will premiere on June 15.
