Warning: Spoilers ahead for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker."
The "Star Wars" star John Boyega was criticized by fans after he made a crude comment about the relationship between his character, Finn, and Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.
Boyega responded to a comment on Instagram with "It's not about who she kisses but who eventually lays the pipe. You are a genius."
"Bro you re extremly disgusting and gross also f---ing disrespectful...you cannot be this jealous of adam driver dude," one person tweeted along with a screenshot of Boyega's comment.
Boyega hit back, saying his remark was about the two fictional characters, not Ridley herself.
"You obviously don't know the diffrence between a fictional world and reality," he wrote.
John Boyega is facing criticism following a sexualized comment he made on social media about Daisy Ridley's "Star Wars" character.
On New Year's Eve, the British actor uploaded a video of himself dancing on Instagram, to which a fan commented: "My boy after realizing Kylo died so he can date Rey."
At the end of the "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," Adam Driver's character, Kylo Ren, dies sharing a kiss with Rey. It's heavily implied in the movie that Finn, Boyega's character, is harboring a crush on Rey.
Boyega used a slang term for sexual intercourse to respond to the comment about Finn potentially hooking up with Rey.
"It's not about who she kisses but who eventually lays the pipe. You are a genius," he said.

In a now-deleted tweet, someone shared a screenshot of Boyega's comment and wrote: "Bro you re extremly disgusting and gross also f---ing disrespectful…you cannot be this jealous of adam driver dude."
They added: "As a black woman im f---ing ashamed that someone like you represented us in star wars."
Boyega clapped back, posting several tweets in his defense.
"You obviously don't know the diffrence between a fictional world and reality," he said.
The actor said Ridley wouldn't be offended by his comment, as it was based on her character — not her.
"Daisy knows she isn't the character," he said. "Lol so tbh she doesn't give AF."
Ridley hasn't commented on the issue.
Despite Boyega jokingly trying to justify his comments, one person said the actor was "still a misogynist," to which he responded by calling them an idiot.
