A New Star Wars Poster Revealed An Important Detail About Keri Russell's Mysterious Character

Any new character in the Star Wars universe—even the weirdo alien creatures designed to sell toys or dispense green milk—is a big deal to fans. From the moment Keri Russell was announced to appear in the upcoming Star Wars IX, fans went nuts trying to figure out who she is. Will she be Luke's lover!? Will she be Rey's mom!? Will she be a bounty hunter hired to track down Force sensitive people for the Emperor!?

We don't know, and I assure you we won't know until 20 December, 2019, when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is actually released. That said, between now and that date, there will be plenty of theories about who she really is.

Here's what we know at this point. Russell's Zorri Bliss has been described as a "masked scoundrel" who hangs out in the 'Thieves’ Quarter of the snow-dusted world Kijimi." Russell herself hasn't said a ton about her character, but describes her as "very cool and a little bit shady. She’s kind of a criminal and sort of this old friend of Poe’s.”

As the Vanity Fair article explained in more depth:

Her mask helps Bliss disguise both her identity and motives—a useful feature for anyone who might want to blend in at a shady cantina or the Thieves’ Quarter of Kijimi. Ever since the balance of power in the galaxy was thrown off by the invasion of the First Order and the destruction of the New Republic, it has become very profitable for scoundrels to avoid picking a side during the escalating war between Leia’s Resistance and Kylo Ren’s forces. If Benicio Del Toro’s The Last Jedi character taught us anything, it’s not to trust a rogue, but we’ll have to see whether Zorri Bliss chooses the dark side, the light, or, most likely, herself when The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters.

While her being an old friend of Poe's likely means she'll be on the side of the Resistance, it's not entirely clear, considering characters in this franchise are known to switch sides often. Remember that guy named Lando Calrissian, who did wrong by his friend Han, then ultimately redeemed himself in the end? Also, as Vanity Fair notes, her clothing is reminiscent of the bounty hunter Zam Wesell, who was sent by Jango Fett to assassinate Senator Amidala in Attack of the Clones.

So, it's safe to say that Zorri could go either way. But, late last month, a new poster for The Rise of Skywalker appears to have confirmed Zorri Bliss's allegiances.

If you take a look at the poster below (and other marketing material), you clearly can see Zorri Bliss located on the Good Side.

What exactly will Zorri's place be on the good side? We'll know for sure in December.
