A fresh crop of spoilerific suggestions regarding the characters played by Daisy Ridley and Max von Sydow have emerged, with further notes on Chewbacca and the role of lightsabers in December 2015's franchise continuation.

Daisy Ridley and Max von Sydow are both newcomers to the series and their characters' backgrounds will be linked, according to rumors sourced by Badass Digest and MakingStarWars.

The pair are found in a salvage yard when a blue alien turns up with a lightsaber of unknown origin.

Daisy Ridley
Ridley's character appears to be human, a woman named Kira who lives inside a downed AT-AT -- perhaps grounds for a connection with the reclamation business -- and the abandoned four-legged walker also houses Kira's small ship within its torso.

Max von Sydow
By contrast, Von Sydow is said to be a cyborg who, despite his augmentations, appears to struggle with memory loss.

However, he regains his lucidity upon introduction to the lightsaber, reminiscing about characters from previous films, and, unbeknownst to Kira and the alien, contacts a "mysterious figure," alerting them to the weapon's presence.

Chewbacca
Han Solo's hairy mountain of a friend is back; that much was already known. What's new is a report of concept art showing him with a cybernetic hand, recalling the prosthetics of both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, and alluding to conflicts that followed "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi."

Greenham Common
One final snippet from Badass Digest purports to make further sense of Star Wars props pictured at the Greenham Common airfield, not far from Pinewood Studios in England.

The base is actually doubling for the Massassi Temple of first film "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," says BD, indicating a return to the jungle moon Yavin IV, launch pad for an iconic assault on the Death Star that saw Luke launch a torpedo into a sevice exhaust and blow it up with not a moment to lose.
