Starbucks will be adding yet another Sioux Falls location — this time along one of the busiest corridors in the state.

A contractor for the chain coffee shop applied for a permit on Tuesday for a build out of a stand-alone site in The Crossroads development, at 401 S. Crossroads Drive, right near the 12th Street and Interstate 29 entrance.

12th Street between I-29 and Kiwanis Avenue is one of the most heavily trafficked corridors in the state, said Raquel Blount, representative for Starbucks and vice president of commercial real estate at Lloyd Cos. There's also plenty of visibility at the development near the interstate.

The building and drive-thru will stand in the first lot into the development, next to a planned Silverstar Car Wash, Blount said.

Construction is planned to start in the next few weeks with the store opened by late summer, she added.

Two other Starbucks are currently under construction near the northwestern Sioux Falls Walmart and the 85th Street Walmart.
