Starbucks’ New Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino Is Topped With Powdered Sugar
It’s officially summer, according to Starbucks, because its 2021 summer menu is here! The number one treat that we can’t wait to get our hands on is the blended beverage of our carnival-inspired dreams. Say hello to the new Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino!
Unlike other drinks that are on Starbucks’ secret menu, like the Raspberry Cheesecake Frappuccino, this one is an official offering from the coffee giant. The Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino is made with blended coffee, ice, and funnel cake-flavored syrup that’s layered with the flavors of with strawberries and whipped cream. It’s complete with crunchy funnel cake pieces and powdered sugar on top. Who needs to head to a fair when this exists?
You can order the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino at Starbucks in the U.S. and Canada beginning on May 11. That’s not the only menu item you’ll want to treat yourself to, however, because a limited-edition cake pop that was new last summer has made its way back.
“We wanted to capture the joy of this time of year, and we thought about those simple pleasures that really encapsulate summer,” Sara Bennett, senior product developer for Starbucks R&D team, said in a press release. “That led us to state fairs and funnel cake — just wanting to channel that sense of carefree fun.”
The Unicorn Cake Pop, which was first introduced last year, has returned to Starbucks for the summer. The vanilla-flavored cake with confetti sprinkles is shaped into a unicorn head, dipped in a white chocolatey icing, and detailed with magical designs to bring it to life. It’s only available for a limited time while supplies last, so ditch your Birthday Cake Pop order just for now.
Between the new Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino and returning Unicorn Cake Pop, Starbucks certainly knows how to give us no choice but to treat ourselves. Happy summer!
