In December of last year, Starbucks announced that they would be expanding their delivery options with Uber Eats to different cities, as at the time, delivery was only available in Miami.

Today, Uber Eats and Starbucks announced that delivery was finally live in San Francisco, and over the next few weeks delivery will be launched in cities like Washington, D.C., Boston, Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles. Now you have even more reasons to never leave the house.

UPDATE: December 14, 2018 at 2:55 p.m.

Earlier this year, Starbucks began testing delivery in partnership with Uber Eats out of select stores in Miami, Florida, and Tokyo, Japan. The partnership seems to have been successful, as Starbucks announced this week nearly a quarter of their U.S. stores will start offering Starbucks Delivers program in early 2019. With more than 8,500 company-owned stores across the country, that could mean upwards of 2,125 delivery locations.

While additional details remain sparse until the new year, the news-which came out of Starbucks' Investor Day December 13-included mention of the test program Starbucks ran in China. Working with Ele.me, China’s leading on-demand food delivery platform, Starbucks Delivers has expanded to 2,000 stores across 30 cities in China since it launched a few months ago.

For once in this lifetime, there's news to report that will make you envious of Florida: The state everyone loves to hate is currently the testing ground for a partnership between Starbucks and Uber Eats. Details are sparse so far, but according to a spokesperson for Starbucks, more than 100 stores are participating.

Per the coffee chain, "We're in the initial stages of testing a new way for customers to enjoy Starbucks with Uber Eats, currently available from more than 100 participating stores in the Miami area. We’re always testing new products and experiences for our customers and look forward to hearing their feedback-and we look forward to sharing more details at a later date."

Right now, only select items can be ordered, which Uber Eats said include "favorite items that have been tested for delivery," according to Nation's Restaurant News. So far, the most popular order has been a Caramel Frappuccino, in case you were wondering. For now, the delivery zone includes select stores in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

This isn't the first time the coffee shop has experimented with delivery options. Starbucks teamed up with Postmates in 2015, launching in Seattle and expanding to about 400 markets nationwide. That includes almost 90 stores in the Miami area. Clearly, Floridians like their coffee delivered.

In other Starbucks news, the coffee house announced this week a commitment to build 10,000 "Greener Stores" globally by 2025. The plan is to make these stores LEED certified and reduce energy consumption by 25 percent. The stores will be designed to reduce waste, and use materials and products that are responsibly and sustainably sourced (like those sippy cups!). Along with helping environmental efforts, the plan is expected to save the company as much as $50 million in utilities over the next 10 years.
