Stargazers catch images of Perseids meteor shower during weekend peak. Here's what they saw

Did you catch a meteor this weekend? Visually, I mean?

The Perseids meteor shower, one of the showiest and easiest to see, has been going on since July 14 and will continue until Earth passes through the cloud of debris that causes it on Sept. 1. But Aug. 12 and 13 were the peak nights to watch, with up to 100 meteors an hour blazing across the sky.

(You can still watch for them tonight, or any night over the next couple weeks. You just might not see as many).

Parts of Florida may have been too cloudy or overcast for a good view, but plenty of people were witnesses to one of the brightest, most fireball-heavy spectacles in years.
