Tugboat's Pub to close March 31

Mike and Michelle Munson, owners of Tugboat's Pub at Meadowlake Golf & Swim Club in Plain Township, have announced the restaurant will close March 31.

"After serving a loyal and tight knit community for the last seven years makes leaving even harder," Mike Munson said of Tugboat's Pub, at 1211 39th St. NE in Plain Township.

Munson said in the Facebook announcement that "the owner of Meadowlake Golf & Swim Club has decided to go a different direction with the space."

But, don't count the Munsons out − the couple soon will open a pizzeria named for their daughter Bella in May off Oakwood Square in Plain Township. Bella's has been in the works for some time.

Mike Munson said in the post that the Tugboat's closure came as a shock, and added they have been looking for a new location.

Tugboat's Pub is open noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
