Minerva’s Normandy Inn up for auction this month

After nine years of running Normandy Inn at 114 S. Market St. in Minerva, owners Tom and Rae Fry are putting it up for auction through Kiko Auctioneers on July 20.

“We are anxious to have more time for our son and grandchildren, our parents and siblings. At the same time, we have met so many wonderfully amazing people, many have become like family. So this is definitely a bittersweet moment,” the couple said in a message.

The Frys have three granddaughters and plan to spend more time making memories with them.

They’ve cherished their time running Normandy Inn, saying, “… we have dumped our hearts and souls into the Normandy. Blood, sweat, tears and laughter. Lots of laughs for sure,” said the couple in a message.

While they’re auctioning the restaurant and upper apartment, their hope is for new owners to continue running the business.

“Our customers and employees are top notch. We couldn’t have dreamt our experience! It has been a labor of love. We hope and pray that whoever takes over understands and appreciates the history that is here and the history that can be made. The Normandy is a staple of the Minerva community that deserves to live on.”

The Kiko Auctioneers listing for the building touts the historic two-story building with a turnkey restaurant business with a liquor license, kitchen and bar plus equipment transfer with the property sale and outdoor patio, plus a large two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the village of Minerva in Carroll County.

The auction is set for noon July 20.
