Stark Bites: New diner joining Belden Village restaurant scene Oct. 17

Owned by Tyler James, the restaurant originally opened Oct. 25 as a full-service, '50s style diner concept. James said that it switched to a fast-casual concept as it struggled with service, costs, pricing and staffing issues.

In a post to a Facebook group that chronicles the restaurant scene in Stark County, James added a comment.

"We decided to close after we lost one of the final investors. We just didn't have the volume to self sustain. We obviously did make staffing changes as we got away from full service to a fast casual model," he wrote.

James, who manages a car wash in Jackson Township, added, "We appreciate everyone who stopped in!"

Carrabba's kicks off catering service

Carrabba's Italian Grill has put the finishing touches on a new catering service, Carrabba's Sandwich Bistro. Offering a menu of hearty sandwiches accompanied by sides and salads, the new catering service of hand-crafted Italian flavors is available for a variety of occasions.

The Bistro sandwiches, cold or warm, features Italian, Bruschette Chicken, Caprese, Steak Marsala, Chicken Parmesan, and a Meatball sandwich. A vegetarian sandwich option is also available. Sides include house-made chips, pasta salad, house salad or Mama Mandola's Sicilian chicken soup.

Selections are available in three packages: a sandwich bundle, boxed lunches, or sandwich trays.

Meyers Lake wine shop offers tasting event

Meyers Lake Beverage & Drive Thru at 4301 12 St. NW in Meyers Lake plans a wine tasting Thursday.

TJ Sliman, owner of Meyers Lake Beverage, said the shop will feature Italian wines at the event, which will offer sampling of four wines by Tramonte Brothers.

The tasting, which will run 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., costs $5 per person. For more information, call the shop at 330-477-7008.
